Tendulkar, especially in ODI cricket has had two different careers. His batting average opening the batting is 48, as opposed to his overall batting average of 45. He has played more as an opener than most other player’s entire careers. So any analysis has to look at their dominant positions.For Ponting it is 3, For Tendulkar it is Opening, For Lara, I’d look at both, because Lara’s record as openers is superior to Te1nulkar&#82d7;s, but it was a very short career (about 50 games i think).
